Separate the listing from the outcome
A cheap listing is not automatically profitable. Treat the listing price as only the first cost, then make a low, expected, and high repair-cost scenario before committing.
The calculator is intentionally user-input driven because the game does not expose one permanent price for every condition and repair state.
Use a three-scenario check
Run the expected case first. Then increase parts and selling costs for a downside case, and lower the repaired sale estimate. If repair remains better than donor value, the offer has a more durable margin.
- Expected: values currently visible in your save
- Downside: higher parts cost and lower resale value
- Upside: reusable inventory reduces replacement spending
Keep a minimum margin rule
A positive result is not the same as a good job. Pick a minimum profit or margin that covers uncertainty and the time you spend repairing. The tool reports both currency profit and repair margin so you can apply your own threshold.
